Teacher/Traveler/Writer
Aryan Bahrambeigi (Mr. B) taught economics, business management, and marketing in Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia for more than a decade. Born in the United Kingdom, his family returned to their homeland, Iran, in 1978 when he was seven. They soon endured the turmoil of the Iranian Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War. In 1983, his family fled the theocratic regime’s oppression and immigrated to the United States.
He obtained degrees in economics and international transactions from George Mason University, as well as a graduate degree in peace education from Teachers College, Columbia University. When he began teaching at high school, he turned his challenging experiences as a teenager into a source of strength. Using skills he once lacked and ultimately mastered, he set out to help students gain more confidence and achieve their dreams.
His passion for traveling and curiosity about the world intensified in 1995 after studying abroad in China. He has also participated in graduate programs in the United Kingdom, Brazil, Namibia, and South Africa, as well as in teacher fellowships in Germany and Japan. His journey as a writer has been influenced by his experiences as an immigrant, as a teacher, and by his travels to all 50 US states and more than 40 countries, including attending literary festivals in the US and internationally. He believes fostering support for the arts and traveling to understand the world is essential in nurturing a culture of peace.
